teardrop necklace
a high polish dewy collar length subtly linked chain necklace with box clasp closure hidden in the final teardrop link. Crafted in the traditional hollow work method, using the original Spratling taller mold, solid sterling sheet is hammered into the tear drop troquele, then cut and soldered to sheet sterling - creating dewy voluminous links with slippery soft backsides. A modernist design, c.1940-1946, from William Spratling's first design period.
